Head of School/Classroom Guide

2024-2025 School Year

Mary Seat of Wisdom Montessori is seeking a faith-filled Catholic with experience in education and leadership to serve as a Classroom Guide, while also leading and mentoring our current staff as our Head of School.

MSW is a growing Catholic Montessori school which has sprung out of the dynamic Catholic community in Steubenville, Ohio. Families are moving from all over the nation to Steubenville for this community, and many of them are attracted by the opportunity for Catholic Montessori education. MSW currently serves 45 children ages newborn to nine years, across three classrooms of 10-20 students each.

The Head of School/Classroom Guide will have the assistance of a part-time school administrator and a full-time classroom assistant, and will report directly to MSW’s Board of Trustees. As the school grows, our hope is that the Head of School position will no longer need to be combined with teaching responsibilities.

Our preferred candidate has Montessori AMI training or MACTE certification at the Toddler, Primary, or Elementary levels, holds a bachelor’s degree with at least 5 years of teaching experience, and exhibits energy, strong leadership and communication skills, as well as a zeal for their Catholic faith. Familiarity with Catechesis of the Good Shepherd and prior educational leadership experience are highly valued.

We are eager to fill this position for the 2024-25 school year as soon as possible. A start date in June 2024 is desirable. The position is salaried. Applicants should already have their US residency.

To Apply: Interested candidates should send a letter of interest, current resume, and three references to Louis St. Hilaire: chairman@maryseatofwisdommontessori.org.

MSW’s mission is to provide an authentic Catholic Montessori education, rooted in an encounter with Jesus, to enable the full flourishing of the child—soul, heart, mind, and body—so they may bring Christ’s light to the world.
